Health benefits of drinking water , how much quantity and side effect of drinking less water

Did you ever ask yourself the reason drinking water is good for health? Naturally, everyone knows that water is essential to life and that it can waterhelp the system eliminate poisons But its purpose may appear far more critical and not many are aware of what specifically it does and how.

Water is critical component of the human body. Our muscles are made up of 75 percent water. the brain comprises 90 % and bones 22 percent. As for blood, 83 % is water. Our body is derived from tissue and every cell needs water because water carries oxygen and nutrients to all these cells. Protoplasm, the basic substance of living cells, is made up of fats, carbohydrates , proteins , salts,and similar elements combined with water, Water acts as a solvent, transporting compound and chemically extracting these substances.

Water also moisturizes the air in our lungs, making breathing easy. It helps our metabolism, protects our vital organs and relates our body temperature. It flushes out toxins and moisturizes our joints. It helps to replenish skin tissues, moisturizes skin and increases skin elasticity.

Those people who are attempting to lose weight are told to drink eight glasses of water every day because water boosts metabolic rate by 3 percent, hence burning more calories. Sometimes our body mistakes thirst for hunger and drinking more water prevents us from overeating. Also keep in mind that water contains zero calories , so drinking tea/ coffee/ soft drinks rather than water is not the same thing in anyways.

What are the side effects of drinking less water

Whenever you don’t drink enough water it leads to dehydration which can lead to headaches, migraine fatigue, constipation, muscle cramps, irregular blood pressure, dry skin and even kidney problems. It effect overall body functions.Dehydration could cause even heart problems because water helps in avoiding the clogging of arteries. If it does not get the right quantity of water, blood becomes thick and saturated with toxins and will not flow properly. Those with high cholesterol, high blood pressure and asthmatic problems are also told to drink an abundance of water.

How much quantity of  water is enough ?

There are several studies about this discussion topic, generally Institute of Medicine recommends a daily does of 2.7 liters of water for women and 3.5 litres for men. It is safe to assume that, you should drink eight to ten glasses of water a day. Also make sure that you take entire quota of water in one go, it should be taken in intervals to ensure that your kidney is no strained and you get full advantage of drinking water.
