Tattoo is a popular form of body art that give fashion buffs endless possibilities to beautify their bodies. Tattoos are meant to be permanent images, an expression to the world about who you are. Some tattoo removal methodsl can be horribly expensive and somewhat disappointing at times.

Tattoo removal has been performed throughout the history of tattooing.  Over time the process of removing tattoos has seen many changes in progressions. Although tattoos are generally considered to be something permanent, there are times where tattoo removal treatments are able to remove unwanted tattoos completely.  Unfortunately the cost, pain and time that go into removing unwanted tattoos will typically be greater than the cost, pain and time it took to apply the tattoo.

Tattoo Removal Cream

According to many dermatologists and medical professionals that deal with the skin, the most effective and widely accepted method for tattoo removal today is through the use of laser technology. The other method for removing tattoosl involves the use of the many topical creams available today. These creams are intended for use by individuals experiencing tattoo regret; however, they are not promoted largely by dermatological professionals

Tattoo removal surgery

In the past, tattoos were surgically shaved, scraped or frozen off, or peeled away with chemicals. “Frequently, this left an undesirable scar,” notes Dr. Vidimos, Chairman of Dermatology and Vice Chairman of the Dermatologic & Plastic Surgery Institute. Carbon dioxide lasers were the first lasers ever used to remove both tattoos and the scars from removal attempts

Other Tattoo removal methods

There are other methods of tattoo removal, but most of them are so painful and ineffective that laser removal replaced them as soon as it became available. These other methods include dermabrasion, which would actually “sand” away the top layer of skin through abrasive friction.

One more method is known as excision. In this, the tattoo would actually be peeled off, and the remaining skin sewn back together. It goes without saying that this is not advisable.

Tattoo removal is also possible with the aid of acids though care needs to be taken while handling them since they can damage the skin severely

Things to remember before Tattoo

# Some tattoos fade only partially after laser treatments.

# Older tattoos fade more easily than newer ones.

# Fading is generally slower for tattoos located further down the arm or leg.
