fruitsVitamin is an organic compound needed by all living beings in a small quantity, this is essential for all living beings to function properly and grow. Human beings don’t have a capability to manufacture or synthesize vitamins by its own. So vitamins has to be taken in as part of diet or man-made dietary supplement. Vitamins are classified by their chemical activities. Vitamins have many biochemical functions such as hormones (vitamin D) antioxidants (Vitamin E). In human, vitamins are classified as water-soluble and fat-soluble. Most of the times limited overdose of vitamins are considered harmless. Severe larger overdose of Vitamins can cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea and vomiting. These symptoms settle down once the dosage is reduced.

Dietary supplements usually contains vitamins and they are used to ensure required amount of nutrients are taken in on a daily basis. If you are not able to intake optimal amount of nutrients through your diet then you may have to lean towards these diet supplements. Always keep in mind that over usage of vitamins can lead you to vitamin poisoning.Since human body doesn’t store most of the vitamins, it has to be taken in on a regular basis to avoid vitamin deficiency.Studies has proved that vitamins can play a vital role on our mental health.Vitamin A deficiency can lead to night blindness.
